

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR NYC HIP-HOP THEATER FESTIVAL
HHTF is looking for volunteers to help with the New York City Hip-Hop Theater Festival. Shifts will be scheduled based on YOUR availability, Now through October 11. Send your name, phone number and email address to michael@hiphiptheaterfest.org.
HHTF INTERNSHIPS
Hours: Spring & Fall: 15-20 hours per week, 12 weeks
Summer: 15 hours per week, 6 weeks
Compensation:
Subway travel reimbursement.
College Credit if approved by University.
Food stipend maybe available.
Hip-Hop Theater Festival is offering several internship opportunities.
All positions are located at our Brooklyn offices and/or our NYC venues, sites and events.
Marketing/PR
Data entry, assistance in maintaining the press archive, on and off-site event production, upkeep of marketing files and materials, management of MySpace, Facebook and Wikipedia accounts, general research, assistance in donor campaigns, assistance with the HHTF website, general ambassador for HHTF and general office duties. Reports directly to the External Affairs and Marketing Director. We are looking for someone with at least two years of college experience or two years office experience, preferably in PR, non-profit, theater, education or journalism. Word processing and Internet skills are a must. Love for Hip-Hop a plus. Your own laptop a plus. This internship requires a minimum 4-month commitment at 10 - 20 hours a week. Hours take place at the Hip-Hop Theater Festival office and are flexible based on your schedule.
General Management
Responsibilities include assisting with the following: drafting of contracts and contract fulfillment, coordinating the booking of travel, hotel, and local transportation, and liaising with production staff, artists, Festival Coordinators and venues in multiple cities
HHTF Department of Education
Position assists in following areas:maintaining communications with current community organizations and cultural institutions, developing new and strategic partnerships for the Hip-Hop Theater Festival with educational, community-based organizations, planning and scheduling various events with our different partner organizations, attending on-site evaluations of our workshop series, maintaining education database, and assisting in distribution of education materials to our partner organizations.
Production Management
Intern will work on all production aspects of our Festivals, as well as HHTF On-Tour and the Critical Breaks Workshop Series. Under supervision of the Production Manager, Intern will have hands-on experience liaising with artists, venues and designers to communicate the technical aspects of production including budgets and schedules; sometimes working with emerging artists to create tech riders and assist with production staffing for the Festivals.
Literary/Programming
Responsibilities include logging and reviewing and responding to submissions, updating Programming database, and assisting Artistic Director with follow-up in all areas of programming, including the Festivals and the Critical Breaks Workshop Series.
All internships require some general office and administrative support, such as answering phones, assisting with mailings, running errands, etc.
